SERVICES

Nimbus Editing is a copyediting firm. In a nutshell: we take your final draft and give you the suggestions you need to prepare it for publication.

WHAT IS COPYEDITING?

Copyediting is the process of ensuring that a manuscript is clear, correct, concise, complete, and consistent. A copyeditor does this by correcting errors in spelling, grammar, and punctuation; improving the structure of sentences and paragraphs; offering suggestions for improving the overall structure of the manuscript; making changes to create a consistency of stye, tone, and voice; verifying the accuracy of claims made in non-fiction manuscripts; and verifying adherence to the desired style (Chicago, APA, or house style).

AREAS OF EXPERTISE

HOW DOES THE PROCESS WORK?

1. Use the submission form to send Nimbus Editing your manuscript(s), along with comments or special instructions.

2. We review your manuscript(s) and contact you with an estimated date or time of completion, the cost of the edit, and an invoice for the deposit (50%) if necessary.

3. Once we receive your deposit, Nimbus Editing gets straight to work. The editorial process includes two thorough passes of your manuscript by the Editor, who may contact you during this time with questions. Copyediting is completed as soon as possible (under 24 hours for manuscripts under 5,000 words).

4. Nimbus Editing returns your copyedited and proofread manuscript, and an invoice for the remainder due. All changes and suggestions are made with the Track Changes feature of Microsoft Word.
